The community garden located behind Asda is a converted allotment garden. Funding from Home Housing – Supporting Communities, Boldon Neighbourhood Management Project (NRF and the Local Initiatives fund has made it possible to employ a community gardener to work with residents and local school groups. Produce from the garden will be distributed to the community and used when working with youth groups to encourage healthy eating and deliver cooking on a budget courses.
