Youngsters Train like the Professionals
Young people with Boldon Young people's project visiting Middlesborough Football Academy
The Boldon Young People Project arranged for a group of local youths who regularly attend the late night football sessions to visit Middlesbrough Football Clubs Training Academy. This centre boasts some of the best training facilities in the country and the group got a guided tour and at the end, were presented with a signed shirt by David Wheater, who recently was selected for the England squad.
The group then decided they would like the shirt Framed and hung in the Village Hall for them to look at when they attend the youth club.
The group then got the opportunity to play on the fantastic indoor pitches which was just as well as the weather was terrible and they could not use the beautiful outdoor pitches.
The Youth Service and the young people would again like to thank Middlesbrough and in particular, Martin Carter who provided the tour and arranged for the shirt to be signed.
The Youth Service in Boldon is provided in partnership by Home Housing and South Tyneside Council and works with young people from 10-25 year old.
